Strong game vs. 1900 level player

enjoy.
Your opponent needs some work on the French defense. Good job of exploiting his errors!
I did notice from your opponent's stats that he has not yet been tested, and his 1895 rating is based on too few games to be credible. I would hesitate to call him a 1900 player.

Very nice play! I must say that a3/h3/a6/h6 moves are almost always weak in the opening (at least the ones I play =P), and I agree with the computer that h3 was an inaccuracy (perhaps if you MUST prevent counterplay, an early a4 would have helped prevent his queenside moves) . I also think you should have killed that f6-knight, but you did just as well in rendering it useless.
Overall, very nice attacking game, especially for your rating! I liked how you just kept building up an attack rather than beginning inaccurate ones (as I likely would have =P). Very nice game. Good job!
Play some Evans Gambit for even more fun tactical king hunts =). I also like the Benko Gambit (Benoni Defense) as black, but more often than not, all play occurs on the queenside.

This is the Rubinstein variation of the French. Black needs to be careful when castling kingside to defend ihs position and not waste time attacking on the queenside if White does not castle on that side. Here is a game where Black was not careful.

I would like to report that the Rubinstein has served me well, but the truth differs. White scores approximately 57% against me in the opening. To an extent, my poor score can be attributed to laziness: I often have trotted out the Rubinstein when I was seeking an easy draw.
Here are two examples that offer a better example of how the opening might be played:
Nice game, mottsauce. At our level 1900 scalps are fun, aren't they : )
