Can you double check the moves? 9. Bg5?? seems like an outright blunder to me (if you were worried about Nxg5 then e6 protects the f7 square).
After 8. d3 you actually could have won the queen.
8. ...Na5!
9. Qa6 Bb5!
10. Qxa7 Ra8 and the queen is trapped.
Nice checkmate at the end. Well done.
This is quite an interesting game I played recently online. In a bizarre and calamitous opening we both somehow managed to blunder away our b-pawns. However, from then on the game is ok. Black has a lethal Rook planted on the 2nd rank. The black g8 Knight is particularly noteworthy; he rampages across the board and ends up delivering a pretty checkmate. Curiously, in a 25 move game, the neither side castles and the black Queen doesn’t move at all.
I’d be interested to hear any thoughts from strong players.
