For most of the middlegame, I seemed to be lost as I was down 2 pawns and I had a knight and rook Vs bishop and rook. Can anyone please explain to me how I managed to play to get a drawn position in the final few moves? We both agreed to a draw because white could not promote as I could just keep my king on f8 and block the pawns.

Because the Black king was too close to the f-file as of move 49...Rxa4.

White attempted to promote the pawn, but your knight or king managed to get there in time.
