Are you sure that's an NM? Why is his rating so low? Why did he give away a pawn on move 7 in an Online Chess Game?

I beat him too!

He's practicing for a simul, so he's playing about 200 games doing 1-second moves.

why not simply play bullet instead?

Bullet's not quite the same, because you're playing the whole game at once rather than making a move and going on to the next game like you would in a simul.

I was lucky to win for two reasons:

A) he's playing something like three hundred games at once and

b) he blundered.

Oh, and I spent a few hours or more on each move while he took about five seconds each.

He's a helluva nice guy, by the way.

Since he has the NM title listed, he most certainly is an NM (they verify the accounts and titles). Chess.com ratings really don't mean a whole lot, in the greater scheme of  things, and his rating can be low for any number of reasons.
