this post is to highlight my opponent's win over me in the petroff defense.

where did I go wrong?

15. Bxe4 looks better than 15. Nxe6, also I think your plan with 11. b3 may not be so great. Maybe 11. Nc3 would be better.

What to say about this game.

#1.  I felt like you didn't develope your pieces effectively or quickly enough.

#2.  I think your thoughts should have been on 100% removing the knight from that powerful square by exchanging.

#3. Opening up lines on the queenside with c4 should have happend as early as move 7.

#4. Kh1 was a horrible blunder and lost the game, which at that point was even, and Kf1 should have been played.

#5. Time could have been gained on move 10, by pushing the pawn to c5

Really he only beat you that fast because of the king move to the corner. Otherwise play would have continued.

Where di you go wrong?  First of all you started with "owned"  Try just saying you lost or got beat.  No one owns you...have some self esteem!

=) thanks for all your comments! I realize now (some thanks to immortalgamer) that the knight on e4 could be a real pain in the...

just adds to the saying, learn from your losses.

what would have happened on move 20?

did you timeout after your 19th move?  Your threat of Nf1+ followed by Qh2# looks pretty strong to me.
