lost game
sorry, I'm new to this forum - but why would you want a draw? If you're black you should be able to promote your pawn without much trouble and win I would have thought. Presumably its a reason I'm not getting by looking at it so it would be interesting to know. It seems to suggest you lost though - is that right? did it time out or something?
Thanks - trying to get my head around site/competition/etc rules myself so it would be good to understand this.
Nic

ah well, if you run out of time you lose no matter what position you're in don't you?
yes except in FIDE rules (which it is only a win if you have mating material)
i get your point (that diagram isnt mate though)
seems a bit odd to get a draw if i had only my king and lose when i have material advantage

unless chess.com messed up, the board lookes untouched, so idk why u say its a bad game....???
may Jesus Christ bless you.
After move... 47;you had 3-unopposed pawns,1-rook, 1-bishop. Against 1-bishop. HOW CAN YOU LOSE? What kind of tournament were you playing in? Was it a simul? Did you lose on time? Apparently, there must have been some regulation stipulating a win to the contrary with 1-check on your king. If, you keep playing like this the world is your oyster. Good game.

He lost on time, and is wondering why he didn't get a draw, since a king and bishop are not normally sufficient material to mate. However, white can technically mate with the material on the board if black blocks in his own king and white delivers mate with the bishop (as saw_was_sent . . . attempted to point out). Thus, white technically wins.
