I just finished a game where I thought I was in trouble but still had a chance to sneak a pawn through so I played it out and managed to get the pawn across the goal line after sacrificing a knight to draw the king away from the queening square and pinning the only other piece that could have made it there to stop it. Once the queen was on the board, I had almost unlimited check forks at my disposal and would have been able to pick off the defenders one by one if the other guy hadn't resigned.

Wow... that was a great comeback game! Congrats again on the win!! I especially like the move h6, foreshadowing problems in black's pawn structure.

thanks. back then I completely undervalued the value of pawns  (value twice lol) but realized it at the end- that's why this game is significant it changed my gameplay forever.
