Nice work! Whenever I try positions like the caro-kann and french defense advanced variation, I can never get rid of their e5 and d4 pawn and it puts so much pressure on me the whole game.
Nice win in the french advance
Loved it, do you always try to attack the f2 square?
I attack their king, if they castle kingside then f2, g2 and h2 are the squares to look at.
@Deranged - Yeah that can be a problem in the french, I have no experience with the caro-kann but I assume that it's the same. The thing I like about the french advance is that in many positions f6, exf6, Nxf6 ... 0-0 (much like in that game) can be played which is clearly good for black.
Here is a nice win I got as black in the advance French. It illustrates why you should think before you trade pieces off and make sure that the trade benefits you. And that you should pay attention to what your opponent is doing rather than just ignoring their moves and developing happily.
The game shows white trading off his better bishop for black's very bad Light squared bishop, then passively moves his knights to the second rank, ignoring the f2 threats and gets punished for it.
