Ways you should never TRY to win

Oddities of this game include:

A fianchettoed queen.

Two knights on the back rank.... side by side.

Don't try this at home...

Hello!

It's a strange game yes. I am not a very good chess player and I don't understand why your opponent place the queen this way in the corner on move 20? He though it would be easy to capture one knight and then exit from there? I think it's the case... A few move earlier, you travel your queen far away to take a single pawn and then again a long travel to get it back I feel he did not really though about it but he probably assume he would do a similar thing... It's a funny situation though. Thanks for sharing, I am happy to have seen that.

Dennis.

There are actually a number of inaccuracies during the game.  Retreating with my queen was a blunder.  I had the game won right there...  6. ... Qb6 7. Nbd2 Qxb2 8. Rb1 Qxa2 9. Be2 exd5 10. 0-0 d4 11. Ra1

But yes, you're correct.  Putting his queen in the corner was the losing move.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. The position after 23. Bd3 is indeed one of the wierdest positions I have ever seen. White's queenside is on vacation, black's queen is fianchettoed, and black managed to trap white's queen . . . on a8 . . . with two knights.

The only position I've seen that might compete is in another thread here:
