Win a match against the computer

I played two matches against the chess computer and won the seccond match.

Wow!,,that was unexpected, i thought that the computer was undefeatable...

(nice experience for me, cause it was the only computer i had not defeat yet)

While i am not a chess player, but loves to play chess game more and more.

Just wanna be!

promotedpawn

what difficulty level was it?

Ambach

I think level easy, cause i get a chess game on my screen invited me to play, cause chess.com online games were not available during a technical interuption.

I played 2 games and won the seccond in less then 8 minutes less then 20 moves.

Whole lots of luck for sure, but till now i can say i've beaten every chess computer i played against at least once, cause i'd learn that by playing the Kasparov Capella allday and night, till i've defeat it on the highest level in 13 moves, and so i started to love chess really..

You may think that i'm very good,,, no i am not.!

I only play the most crazy moves get the machine confused, so he start to stumble too, then i thake advantage of and win.

Am I smart or crazy, now it's your turn to tell me what i am.

If you're a chess computer i'll challenge you now!....lol:)

Easy is well...Pretty easy.

I've beat Hard twice myself.  One with a pretty tactical game which was surprising.

I would guess it is about 1900 to 2000 level.

immortalgamer

Yeah I would love to...but it doesn't save the games.  I will have to take your advice from a previous post and load each move as the game goes by into winboard.  Then I can post it.  Of course this requires that I win again which is easier said than done.

immortalgamer

Not a bad game. The idea behind the knight sac was a positional one.  I wanted to open up his kingside, double his pawns, and at the same time keep his rooks from penetrating my queenside.  Worked out for me.

immortalgamer

I annotated the entire game so people can follow my logic...I hope you enjoy.

If LCP hard is 1900 - 2000 what are the approximate ratings for medium and easy?

immortalgamer

Not a clue?

immortalgamer

Well you are rated higher than me...how well do you think I played and how well do you think the computer played?

princetrumpet

Curiously, I'm only an 1100+ player but I've beat the LCP at "hard" several times. I generally am only competitive with players around my rating but have trouble with 1300 and up. Go figure.

princetrumpet

Case in point: after writing the post, my curiosity got the best of me and I went and played against LCP. I set it to Hard and I won in about 10 minutes. There has to be a difference between humans play and the machine does. I didn't annotate, sorry. The end result was LCP was black with 2 rooks, a bishop, a queen, and six pawns. I had 2 Rooks, 2 knights, my queen and 4 pawns. Mate was led by the queen supported by a knight. This makes the 6th win against the LCP and I'm less than a patzer.

illini977

um the first game... why did black make its moves of 35th, 37th, and 38th???

and the sacrifice was very nice... i can NEVER sacrifice... very stupid of me..... :P

Nachos

just to try and delay the mate i think....

Nachos

if you get the right sequence this happens all the time after 1.d4 c5

Are you sure you are playing the hard level?  If so post your game would like to see a 1100 beat the computer.

immortalgamer

I'm not sure?  But I'd like to see the game...then we will know for sure.

immortalgamer

From experience...with a minus score against Little Chess Partner, I'm thinking he wasn't playing against the hard.

princetrumpet

Excuse, me... I'm 53 years old and capable of knowing how to manipulate simple buttons to change a game from easy to hard. I generally don't annotate my games because I do it while watching TV and, quite frankly, don't feel like going to the trouble.

My present rating is about 1168 and I've beat the computer four times at hard and twice at easy. I'm not claiming to be some kind of genius as you all clearly are. In fact, my point was my surprise at being able to do so with my inferior rating.

I'm playing on an Apple laptop while running Safari, if it makes a difference.

I'm not in the habit of going on websites and making false, misleading, or inaccurate claims. I'm here to learn not puff myself up like an adder.

immortalgamer

Whoa!  If you are 53 years old why the attitude?  We just wanted to view the game and found it interesting there would be such a discrepancy between it's skill level and your rating.

Nothing was ment personally toward you and to make a comment like, "I'm not claiming to be some kind of genius as you all clearly are."  Is just rude and immature for someone your age.
