Nice sac, loved the ending, but black needed to castle queen side asap rather than wasting moves. Horsey to f6 instead of h6 might have been better for black
Your best or most beautiful sacrifice

Svekke: It may be an unsound sacrifice, but as you said, who cares? I'm actually a big fan of the bishop for f-pawn sacrifice .Nice game !! Here is one short game where I sacrificed my bishop for the f7 pawn.I also sacrificed a lot of my other pieces !

Thanks !And I think you are right. With the right moves (like castle queenside) black could've easily won .Lucky me he hasn't done that

Just a short game I played on other website .My sacrifice could be a mistake but as one user said before "who cares"?

Played here on chess.com. I threw everything at the enemy king and, after the most difficult part, I missed an easy mate in 2. Even though, I consider it my best game (until 23.Bxd6??):

This is my best sacrifice, because it's my only sacrifice... :S (Unless you count all the times I've just thrown free pieces by accident)

i think its a simple sac... just the opponent was a) not smart or b) not seeing the threat
I never said it's a good sacrifice,it's just something I played today. Also,I see no reason to insult my oponent,because.. judging by your rating I personally doubt you could've done better.
am i being nitpicky that the original post/game isnt really a sacrifice when its forced and leads to a instant mate? to me a sacrifice should have at least a chance of either not being taken or completely not working. case and piont from a game i played earlier this week, horrible chess no doubt by me, but how the guy didnt see what i was doing is impossible. bottom line that rook sacrafice should have failed. ummm, game didnt insert the first time does it usually take 5 minutes or more?

My favorite is the queen sacrifice in the Legal Trap. I've only gotten to use it a few times - but it's always fun. If they choose to take the queen - it's a forced mate.

pauix: Sacrificing 5 pawns for development and initiative is cool ! It's a shame you missed Qd6+
After seeing the "Immortal Game", I learnt an important lesson: "Chess is not about how much pieces you have, it's about how many ACTIVE pieces you have". My pawns were being passive (I'm sorry for Philidor, but for me the soul of chess is in the initiative, the tactics and other "intangible things", not in pawns), and after they disappeared my Bishops and my rook could start to prepare the attack without overextending.
I know everyone likes sacrifices, especially when they work.Sound or unsound ,post your best or most beautiful sacrifices and explain the ideas behind them so everyone could learn from them. I am going to start with one of my own, from an older game...even if it might not be that great.
