10 Ways To Improve Your Chess Game
I am up and down like a yoyo , all you mentioned i keep intending to do / will soon tend to your tips , CHEERS .
I suppose you have a good purpose with posting such a list, but I think it's of almost no practical use if you are addressing beginners.
1.)Figure out the type of learner you are and diagnose your style of play.
How can a beginner do this?
2.)Solve checkmate or puzzles.
Good advice. Can be done here on chess.com or some other tactics servers. There are also good books with puzzles.
3.)Play blindfold chess.
No. Nobody have shown this is going to help you improving. If you google on this subject, you will find several people how have tried this, without any improvment. And there are good blindfold chessplayers, which don't are good at OTB chess.
4.)Play against those stronger than yourself.
Very good advice. But play looooong games! Time more 30 minutes.
5.)Find a strong player with a style similar to your own and review their games.
A stronger player reviewing your games is a good advice, but a beginner has no style!
6.)Develop an opening repertoire that fits your style of play.
Once again: A beginner has no style! Play different openings. Play 1. e4 e5
7.)Find a book that meets your needs.
Please tell me how do I find that book. I have bought nearly 100 recommended books. None of this was the silver bullet. Maybe I have not find it yet?
8.)Review your games.
A very good advice.
9.)Diagnose your defeats.
Yes, also a good advice. But you will find lot of flaws in your other games to.
10.)Have a good internal dialogue.
Please tell how this is done. Easy to say, but difficult to do.
