1100 players are the worst

I'm in NY ratings slump, and stuck with freaking 1100 players which reminded me why I hate being in  this range so much. I'd say every other one stops moving in a losing game. I don't see this behavior in 1200 and above much or 1000 in below. I guess a bunch of losers who hit their brain ceiling and are angry at everyone who reminds them of it.

They probably learned it from Steinitz's opponent who let his time expire. Steinitz couldn't do anything but demonstrate the brilliant 10-move mating combo. Oh my... I miss my old desktop computer and Chessmaster 4000 Turbo!

That's good coming from an American..I'v just come off a game with a Yank...what a Plonker. I record more wins against Yanks than any other, and they are easier to beat... Yes they are.😂

8 months ago you said 1100 players are very good. Now you say they are the worst. It's possible that 11 to 12 hundred is about where you should be, based on how you play. I rountinely lose to 1200 players who are very good, but also dont have much difficulty winning against 1500 players. Here, a 300 point difference is not very much.

FortunaMajor

 What about 600 rated players?

For what you are saying to be correct, the chess.com rating system would have to artificially inflate the ratings of Americans so that you could beat them more easily than someone with the same rating and a different nationality. Are you trolling, or are you really that moronic? I really hope for your sake that it's the former.

Also: the USA currently ranks third on FIDE's top country list; the next closest UK country is England at position twelve. Sorry to have to point that out to you. Surely your chess mastery will some day rectify the situation.

They are challenging and interesting players but many have mental issues.

I have to agree and sympathize with the OP, having had the same type of experience recently OTB.

In defense of my 1100-rated opponent on the losing side, however, he probably thought I might lose on time, or that I (also 1100-ish rated) was not so skilled with that particular rarely published QBPPPPK v KPPP ending.

Plonkers, are we?  We kicked your ass in the Revolutionary War, and then we turned around and saved your ass in WWII.  Show some respect.  I would be happy to take you and your mighty 1238 rating on some time.

"saved your ass in WWII" is a common mistake. Britain won the Battle of Britain at the end of 1940, the war was at a stalemate on the western front. There was no chance of defeating Britain and that's why the Nazis turned their attention east in the middle of 1941. The USA didn't join the war until the end of 1941.

Assuming that your King, a hereditary German, hadn't sold out the entire island, why yes, you could have invaded Normandy all by yourself, then gone on to split the atom and from there to the moon.  Somewhere in your fantasy, Brittania still rules the waves, and space too!  I'm awfully sorry, but this fellow attacked my country, and what did you suppose my response would be?  Even your greatest composer, Handel, was born in Germany.  At least you have the Beatles.  Do you want to hold my hand?

If Britain got their ass kicked in the Revolutionary War, then why do Americans speak English?

I think he was more interested in saying it, rather than worrying about if it was true or not. The last time he said something similar it was after a string of losses to Americans with one win at the end. I wouldn't be surprised if in a month or so when he wins another game, a similar comment will appear.

Oh Danny, Americans speak many languages beside English.  I am partial to Russian; chess.com inspired me to install a Cyrillic keyboard, which is much better than that awful character map that came with this box, where you drop a letter in the textspace behind the map and you don't know if it made it there safely or not.  In my native city of Los Angeles, you hear a lot of Spanish.  What languages other than English do you speak?

Hey Oregonpatzer I'm not backing the guy you initially replied to, all the Americans I've met have been cool so no hard feelings, it's just factually incorrect that Britain was on the verge of defeat. The Battle of Britain was a crucial victory (which included the actions of pilots from many nations) and created stalemate on that front. Of course there would have been no counter attack without the entry of the USA. Similarly there is no reason to think the Nazis could have invaded Britain if the USA remained neutral.

No hard feelings over here either.  I love some of your rock bands, and your cooking, well, your rock bands anyway.

1100 players are decent competitive players really. My experience is the lower your rating is the more chance you have of meeting a trolling opponent. I remember regular abuse in chat when my rating was sub 1000. That pretty much never happens to me now.
