Well there was still that new player who beat Magnus in a few moves. People maliciously figured out how to attack Magnus' nervous system to distract him from completely accurate plays. They did the same thing to Bobby Fischer which made him lose his mind in the wrong way....An example of what I am talking about: Hans Niemann playing two 100% accurate moves in succession. This changed Magnus' modal state right there and he couldn't beat Niemann.
