Just play on if you think you are capable. Nothing calling you dumb. Even Nakamura sometimes plays Qh5.

Also doesn't hurt that he was rated 500 points above his opponent. You can use almost any opening under those conditions.

That's right.
I found that the chess engines give -0.18 adv. for black after this move as the wight will loss a tempo and loss the initiative, and it's about an equal possition.
