2700!

So happy I'm playing well at the moment, and I finally hit 2700 which is crazy to me

I kept track of when I first hit different recent rating milestones

July 2021 - First time hitting 2500

Feb 2022 - First time hitting 2600

Dec 2024 - First time hitting 2700

It took so much time, and a lot of chess work to finally get here but it's crazy how much more you need to know & how many skills you need to work on to not plateau as you get better.

Just wanted to share this cause I'm so happy at the moment!

I thought it'd be like that, but I had a very good day with not so many games & I jumped 40 straight to 2703!

2500 was so difficult to reach for me, it took many hours and sessions but people are getting real good 😅

Maybe someday, after a lot of hard work, you can gain -900 elo and get to 1800

I believe that! That would be crazy but with time for sure

Have to play more tournaments, that’s the plan next year but I’m not in a rush haha

If you haven't started to analyze your openings deeply then do that, at least have model games you remember for each line to help guide you during quick games. Ideally if you can identify lines you don't feel so comfortable in, find interesting lines to shift the game to a direction your opponent may not know... An opening tip is don't steer away from the mainlines if you like those positions, but don't be so rigid in thinking you have to play the mainlines.

And probably don't be afraid of ghosts, but that comes with experience & breaking your chess biases.
