31 ... Bxg4!

The computers hated this move, but most human observers realized rather quickly that this was a great move by Anand.

The computers finally caught on about 30 moves later, but it was nice to see a spot where they are still deficient in their analyses.

For those who don't have the position memorized.

but if carlsen was replaced with a engine then it would have beaten anand. that defense was only good on human terms but in absolute truth it was a loosing move

And what basis do you say that "in absolute truth it was a losing move"?

Are you suggesting that the engines understand the game of chess better than GMs?

Agreed, I've seen no winning plan formulated so far in various published comments.

No, engine would cry at the end because he couldn't have found the win.

Lovely display of human power, I liked how people said "another win for Carlsen" :)

The same people who criticise people who simplify a winning position if the evaluation goes down.

Inyustisia

another case of people just believing engine evaluations as being "absolute truth", nothing to see here

The ending after the bishop sacrifice looked like a draw to me. However, initially i scorned Anand for having masochistic tendencies, since he also had other moves, which left him only minimally worse. However, up to now nobody could find a flaw in his strategy: Black just has to be patient, and he will get his draw.

For the record, the move deserving the exclamation mark is not 31...Bxg4, but rather 28...Ne5!

It's quite apparent that Anand had played this move envisioning the bishop sacrifice.

No! Didn't you hear, pfren? He's terrible.
