Carlsen is from Norway, he doesn't speak English natively. Watch an interview in his mother tounge, he's a well-read, articulate guy. The reason he stutters when speaking English is because he has to translate every thought as he tries to form them. Anand, Kramnik, Karjakin, Svidler, Kasparov, so on and on. They all speak like that. You catch a few grammatical mistakes that a guy says in his second language and use that as an argument? This is just completely ridiculous.
6 masters who proved that chess kills your brain and your life - YOU ARE WARNED
I dont worry, there are legions of crazy ones who dont play chess
--- Yes a lot of people seem to avoid mentioning that fact as it might not fit into their odd theories lol.

The OP has no understanding of statistics, or else he would never have used his examples. The simple fact is that the number of World Chess masters is far too small a population to make a valid conclusion. Also they are absolutely not a random sample. Period. So anyone who offers a conclusion from such a set of data would be laughed out of scientific community.

entertaining topic. are we sure it was chess that "ruined" these masters?? or maybe they weren't ruined, just human. or maybe the same percentage of "ruined" lives exists among chessplayers as everyone else, and they were among them....
The point is, these were the people who made chess their life and played it day in and day out. And these players represent the small percentage of the chess playing population who reached the pinacle of the game and it seems like there is a pretty high percentage of ruined lives among these strong chess masters than anywhere else.
It can also be seen that these players had a perfectly normal life until they picked up on chess, thus it is clear that it was chess which destroyed their neurons making them go crazy.
You would need a lot more data to support or prove that. veeeeery speculative. what's the definition of "crazy??" what's the percentage of chess masters who go "crazy" vs the general population?? gotta be specific and provide data, otherwise it's hot air, dude

What about stockfish? Is stockfish a crazy drunk
Perhaps, I can never get him (her) to say a word to me. Stockfish seems to be an extreme autistic savant.
What a thoroughly stupid post. Anecdotal evidence from an unrepresentative sample hardly constitues proof, and you didn't consider external factors that might vitiate your hypothesis. I could make the same claim about mathemaatics and cite geniuses like Kurt Gödel. That doesn't mean people will stop studying math.

I'm glad you found my posts hilarious. Laughter is the best medicine.

get a life dude.It is worth
Didn't that insult go out of style in the 90's? You need some new material.

You forgot GM Lembit Oll.
Yeah, but he wasn't a world champion or even in the top 10.
Anyway, GM Lembit Oll became so depressed with his life that he committed suicide by jumping out of the 5th floor of his apartment. [Probably not because of chess.]
well there are some chess professionals who have played chess throughout their life without becoming insane.
Those are only 6 chessplayers. Think about all the other thousands that had a good career and life? All sports have players that have been killed by things like this. Your point is clearly not backed with enough evidence. Think about it are any people in the top 10 today like that?
Anand in his 30s to 40s ? No, he's actually closer to 50 than to 40. As for Kramnik, cheat was not proved.
