60-minute games — do you commit to be present the entire time?

I haven’t done a “rapid” game since I first subscribed and hit the button by accident. (The result of having a surprise opponent was either catastrophic or hilarious, depending on one’s sense of humor and/or level of dignity.)

I’m considering trying it again after a decent experience in a couple daily games, but I’m not sure of the rules regarding timers.

Once somebody accepts your game request, can you come & go between moves, or are you expected to stay at the virtual board for the duration?

In real life chess, people can get up and walk around, so I see no reason that wouldn't be allowed in virtual chess too in longer games. So completely fine I'd say.

But stay on the same screen, if that's what you're asking. The game might abort otherwise.

Thanks, that makes sense.

They could get you for abandoning if you close the tab, but if you keep it on, and don't wait too long, you should be fine.
