Why don't you forget that pointless ELO system and just play ? Best way to have fun and enjoy the game, in my opinion 😉

That's normal! I struggle in blitz as well. I'm generally around 2200 Rapid but only 1600 Blitz.
thanks for the info!!!!do you know which rating is a truer representation of strength?

That's not normal usually around 2-2200 blitz starts being higher at some point in the ops case though it is completely normal he probably just needs more practice (tbf you could be old in that case it's uderstandable)

Not chess.com rapid
Theres just less titled and otb players in the pool for rapid above 2000+ under that tho it can be debated
Is it normal to absolutely suck at one time control? I am 1350 rapid and I've been as high as 1550 years back before I stopped playing for a while. My rapid is always 30 minutes with no increment and i always run lower on time than opponents. Anyways I have university exams in a few days so cannot take 30 minute breaks and wanted to try blitz so I could play chess between study sessions. The starting ELO was 400 and I thought getting to 1000 would be easy and after that I'd struggle due to being slow as mentioned earlier. Instead I'm stuck at 800 lol. Now idk what's a true reflection of my ability...800? Or 1400ish?
You should be able to get to 1000 but blitz is a combination of bullet and rapid just thinking slow won't cut it typically if your 1600 rapid it's usually (not always ) 1200-1400

Your fine with bullet which is more intuition based tho it shouldn't be too different it requires a different style maybe some endgame practice might help and not resigning when blundering
It's not too out of the ordinary for your level not good but also not necessarily the worst but if it was 2200 rapid and 1400 blitz that's a bit weirder since the skill gap gets wider the more you go up for each set of elo(of course it could be things like being old ) it's different for everyone but for beginners and intermediates I wouldn't worry about it too much

Thanks for the reassurance lol
