Hi people,

Today I do propose you to solve a mystery.

Advanced players are sure aware, chess is not in 2D.

Easy to find reasons are: Knight moves, castling, stuff. Implying chess actually uses 3D.

But there is a more subtle reason aswell.

And that, is the King's walk.

The King's walk do implies chess is using 3D.

How? Why?

Hmmm, interesting puzzle. The king moves one square at a time. But because of its diagonal move, it breaks the flat 2D of just traversing rank or file, and instead goes through both simultaneously . implying another dimension.

There is more to it. Try expand the idea into more of an evidence.
