During my the time I've been here at chess.com, I've picked up a few fairly awesome traps. The ones I will show below typically don't get played very often, but they're fun to know anyways.
To buisness. Let's start with the somewhat famous Lasker trap...
Now, the Halosar trap in the Blackham-Diemar gambit.
Next, the Elephant trap in the queen's gambit declined. While not being a complete game-finisher like the above traps, it wins a piece for a pawn.
Now, a little trap in the Italian game. Be very very careful when using the next one, though, because if white doesn't fall for it black is in a very sticky situation.
And finally, one more. I dreamed this one up myself, due to a somewhat alarming number of people playing these exact moves. Probably many others have thought of it before and just not bothered telling me, and the moves played by black are rather odd so this trap would never work at the higher levels, but I have used it on several occasions and I am very proud of it. I name it the Jorj Ultra, in hopes that somebody, somewhere, will think that the name isn't as hopelessly cheesy as most of the world will.
Je present, le Jorj Ultra! :)
Please note that the Jorj Ultra is subject to refinement, it was created by me when my rating was below 1400 so if you have better ideas please post them below. I greatly welcome your opinions. :)
I hope that at least one person will benefit from this. That way, I will have done something. Please leave any comments below, as well as other traps that I have no knowledge of.
