Nice game. That looks like a nice defense system for the French Defence. I will definitely have to try it sometime.
A sharp response to the French Defense

It really is! So easy for black to get greedy taking pawns, because there are so many threats on the board and such quick development.
So, I'm sure this is completely contrary to sound opening theory, but I personally think the best response to the Steiner Variation of the French (2. c4) is 2... c6, in which case I would play 3. e5. I feel playing 2... d5 opens the position (dangerous since White maintains initiative). Personally, I think Black's #1 goal in the opening should be playing and maintaining a pawn on d5, since a pawn on d5 claims center space and has natural defense from the queen, important since White has the initiative in the beginning. Of course, I'm also only rated a 1600 player, so my opinion isn't that useful. :P

I don't buy that 'e pawn has moved 3 times' thing. I mean, it has, but it's hardly relevant. They weren't tempo losing moves.

Very interesting opening, but there is one question that comes to mind:
What if black plays 2..c5!? and enters some kind of marcozy sicilian, which is probably not the kind of opening you want to play?

Mark goes over many variations and explains it very well here: Just open an account and all videos are free.

Then it wouldn't be the french defense would it?

Well, I have played against it once. Watch how I won this game quite easily as Black.

I've never liked the games I get against someone who knows how to play the French Defense.
I came across this refutation from a video by Mark Diesen and have been putting it into practice. There are so many threats coming from white it is very easy for black to make a mis-step. This was a turn-based game and my opponet is a very strong and talented player who found his way through most of the problems on the board. However, what I like about playing a french player with this opening is, you don't reach normal french positions.
I hope you enjoy it...I did.
