I believe that aborting games all comes down to a player's choice, which is never an easy choice to make. But better to allow games to be aborted than to put the players' ratings in danger.

Oh, I get it. Another abortion parody. Eh. Joking aside, screw the ratings. Can't be afraid of losing.
If you think a player is too inferior, maybe aborting is justified. But to abort a game when you are in a losing position I think is unsportmanly and cowardice. There is what we call: Resign in chess the honnourable thing to do.
