Achieving a personal goal

I thought a while about posting this before deciding it was worthwhile; (to me anyway).  After joining last June, I steadily dropped in rating until I was in the mid 800's.  Through perseverance and genuine desire to learn and improve, I battled my way back to achieve my goal of breaking 1200.  My new goals are to continue to learn and improve and battle my way to 1300, etc, etc.

Good goal, NoahVale. I don't really know your playing strength and don't really want to try to determine it. But post a game that you played recently here and I'll analyse it for and see if I can give advice.

Thanks for the reply.  I regret though, that circumstances may prevent me from posting a game any time soon.

It's fine NoahVale. I personally do not like focusing on ratings. Take somethng away from the game I like and can make it a numbers game. I like gaining knowledge of the game of chess and sharing that knowledge and I think that is more valuable.

I agree; it's not really the numbers; that comes in due time.  For me it's more about learning and improving.
