USELESS-AH TITLES
These titles are so fake.
am an AFM, I haven't played on chess.com for a while otherwise about 1900-2000, ACM is pretty easy to get but AFM is a bit hard, for AIM you need to be an EXTREMELY strong player AGM is another level. It depends if its worth it. If you play OTB tournaments regularly its worth it because the unrated get a bit scared
, and you get a bit confidence but if you don't its pretty useless. Once, again, it depends.
Hello,
I am planning to buy the FIDE online arena subscription and gain one of the following titles: AFM, ACM, AIM, AGM.
I am confident to get at least ACM and my concern is if it works after you stop your subscription. When it gets FIDE recognized, and I cancel the subscription, will I lose my title?
Best regards
The Arena online chess service is offered by a company working with FIDE.
The "titles" aren't the same as titles granted by FIDE for over the board play and don't count for much of anything in the real world. They don't count towards getting a real over the board title.
I think you get a certificate if you pay for it.
I am AIM
Whenever my OTB opponent has a title beginning with A I don't analyse with them after the game and I make fun of them to my friends
I still don't get the point of the a titles
Well.
I will NEVER EVER be good enough, to claim a IM or GM title. Thats for sure, but to me because they are valid and from FIDE, it makes it fun for me to try and obtain an ACM or in time maybe an AFM.
And yes, it is an online title not worth anything to those much better, but yet it gives me a small feeling of "something i might be good enough to obtain" a goal, besides just running though endless games on chess.com or some other site.
What wrong in that?

Well it wouldnt be a problem if those titles werent named like this. Grandmaster is a great lifetime achievement and AGM is on the level of some steam achievements. It shouldnt be compared at all and actually it is. People new to chess are often misleaded by "coaches" without titles and with fake online titles. Overall it is just a lie to get some money from people.
If you are looking for some goals then try OTB chess. Find a local tournament and give it a try. You will meet new people and have a lot of fun. I guarantee that. A real society.
Online chess are not real no matter what online sites marketing will try to tell you. Its the same difference as the relations with women. You can try it only online but well...

I hear what you're saying - but I would argue that it's not the titles that are wrong, but people's knowledge or understanding of them. If FIDE is behind them, it doesn't really matter what they're called, but yes you're right about you paying for pro to get the opportunity, but honestly we live in a world driven by economics so it hardly comes as a surprise to anyone! Chess.com tries almost every time you log in to get you to "buy" a membership...
I also disagree with you about online not being real chess, although I agree that the classic version of chess is otb, but the future is probably online regardless - along with otb. But for players who live normal lives, with work, family etc., OTB is not a very good option as you have to be available in a physical place, at certain times - and when you have no prospects of becoming IM, GM or the like, but still love chess, and want to play - I still think ACM, AFM etc. are a fine option. So people just need to have a deeper understanding of what those titles mean. These titles allow ordinary people to maintain their interest in chess, and become part of the universe instead of getting tired of watching passively from the outside. Because the more people who take action, the better for chess as a whole.
Sir, i don't know whether i can post this here , i have been playing since 2017 in chess.com i am unable to renew my membership since 2019 as any of my debit card is not valid for that , intially i used my credit card , but now i am not , i even tried with Paypal and other resources but all in vain , is there any other method for payment ? and may i know any body who have crossed 70000 games in Blitz 3 mintues ,
