admin response to IOS trouble.

Well seeing at least 20 people so far have missed this and went on to complain about the problem, a new thread won't hurt.

Here Is the response by an admin-

This is a crazy issue, but here is the explanation:

The reason that some iOS devices are unable to connect to live chess games is because of a limit in 32bit devices which cannot handle gameIDs above 2,147,483,647. So, literally, once we hit more than 2 billion games, older iOS devices fail to interpret that number! This was obviously an unforeseen bug that was nearly impossible to anticipate and we apologize for the frustration. We are currently working on a fix and should have it resolved within 48 hours.

They promised already to make tournament play option for over 5 years now and all they say is : we are working on it,don't worry we are working on it, soon very soon we are working on it. ... etc...

But this is completely different. I was just telling people to stop posting comments like "why won't they fix this?"

Just be grateful. You get to play chess and have fun FOR FREE on this app. Surely that is enough for them to earn respect from their non-paying members?

If you want a feature, become a paying member. Or don't complain.

Before becoming a member you need to invest in something, which means you trust and rely and here you can't even rely playing stable games.

Sorry, you are able to play games 99.9% of the time. Invest something?!?!? What? Ten minutes of time? (To set up the acount?)

I'm sure these technical failures would happen less often and the updates would happen a lot quicker if there were more paying members.

I am not a paying member, and I realise this may not be as beneficial to the site. But I don't go around complaining about an update not being completed, do I?

I was more concerned that our personal information u/p or i-tunes info was hacked so I am happy it is only a coding issue. I am a paying sub and was happy to hear from the admins that it was just a coding issue.

Is this iOS problem still ongoing? Seeing as I am attempting to play my first challenge & all I get is a kick bk to the home screen. I hope your not going to tell me I have to buy a new iPad !! Could this be my 2nd chess related refund in 1 week?

What is the app version?

3.6.14 on the iPad. Here is some more info. I also have the app on an iPhone 6. I currently use my iPhone 6 for a wifi spot. So the iPad is connected to my iPhone 6 . I have just managed to play a game on my iPhone 6 but still not on my iPad.

Update. I have logged out of iPhone 6. I have logged out of iPad . I logged back in on the iPad only and managed to get a challenge game. It did take a while to get a game though. I will monitor the situation and report back any issues.
