Is there any way that I can have the same 500 puzzles rated between 1500 and 2000 on a loop until I can remember 70/80% of them and then change the loop? I know that your UI does not facilitate this right now but I would like you to consider it in the future ... as it is clear from the woodpecker system and the Dutch steps approach (that is a part of the Dutch school curriculum) that this is a far superior way of learning tactics in comparison to having the same 300,000 + puzzles fired at you one after the other which you forget most of by the time you get past approximately 1000 exercises never mid 300,000 + back to back

You can remember themes example: battery/back rank checkmate/fork/pin etc but pattern recognition is going to fail in most people post the first 1000 exercises. I am at 2374 for this account on chess.com in just a few months and I have done close to 4000 on lichess.org in the same time but I have hit a plateau (rating approximately 2000) and need to take a different approach to break this sticking point. I am aware as I have said that your UI does not facilitate this right now but it is not complicated to do ...

Thoughts?

t's great that you have a clear understanding of your current learning needs and that you're looking for ways to improve your tactics training while the current user interface of chess.com does not have the specific feature you're looking for you can still create a customized training plan for yourself one approach would be to select a specific set of puzzles that are rated between 1500 and 2000 and practice them until you can remember 70-80% of them. Once you have mastered that set you can move on to another set of puzzles with a slightly higher rating range this way you can focus on the specific themes and patterns that you need to improve on and keep track of your progress

Thank you for responding! Do you have a set of instructions for me to follow in order to achieve the above section of the post? And can it be done on chess.com?

Thank you ...

Unfortunately chess.com is primarily an online platform for playing chess and does not offer in-person tournaments or coaching sessions However there are several steps you can take to improve your chess skills and work towards achieving an OTB rating

  1. Utilize the resources available on chess.com, such as the analysis board, puzzles, and lessons
  2. Play as many games as possible against a variety of opponents to gain experience and exposure to different playing styles
  3. Study the games of strong players and analyze their strategies and tactics
  4. Participate in online tournaments and events to gain experience playing in tournament-like conditions
  5. Seek out local chess clubs or groups in your area, even if they are not close by, you could travel to them
  6. Look for online coaches or find chess books or videos that can help you learn new concepts and improve your game
  7. Practice regularly and consistently to build and maintain your skills

That is way off-topic but thank you for taking the time to respond. I know how to gain OTB rating and as I live in India I can get to tournaments with little effort. And I have all the other techniques listed for improvement. The aproach I was covering is from the Dutch steps method soI specifically wanted to find a way to reperate the same 500 puzzles ... perhaps I was not clear when asking originally ... my bad.

I am currently cycling through Common Chess Patterns on chessable. Think it's about 800 tactics - the major motifs and test positions followed by the main checkmate patterns and test positions.

Thank you for the input. I will check that out on chessable ...
