If you don't want it on there, you can disable it in your Accounts/privacy page.
Use the Chat Bar drop down box and choose "Never Show" then save settings.

Great, kohai! As a free member, I thought wouldn't find the "never show" option (I tried to get rid of the chat bar from day 1), but I took a shot and there it was! Thank you very much! 
after this meebo thing came on, alerts and nearly everthing else are taking for ever to lode.. Please help.. Thanks..
