Have you specifically requested not to receive e-mails from the site? Or just have all the e-mail options unchecked from Settings > Notifications? If it's just the latter, that doesn't control regular marketing emails.
I have unchecked all the notifications, and I have also unsubscribed directly from the unsubscribe links on various Emails as they have come in. That's how I know this is a different Email "category", because when I went to the unsubscribe link on this Email, it told me I was now unsubscribed from puzzle reminders, where last time I was told I was unsubscribed from some category that actually copped to being marketing Emails.
