Am I ready for human games?
The only way you’re going to get better by playing... If you’re looking for a book to read, I would suggest “Bobby Fischer teaches chess.” It was my first chess book and super interesting and I think the best book for a complete beginner who barely knows the rules
Yes, but just stay away from speed chess like blitz and bullet as those type of games are bad for beginners. 30 minute games are fine but you could also try daily chess which give you a whole 24 hours. Books and YouTube videos should help too, I recommend GothamChess.
Yes, you are ready to play to play humans. You will learn a lot over time by playing humans in medium or long time controls. Don’t be afraid to win or lose. Say “gg” in chat after every game. You may be amazed at what humans can come up with in games. You want to learn how to beat humans? Then you have to play humans. Don’t forget that every experienced player lost a lot of games learning to be better. You will too. Don’t give up!
Yes. And when you are down enough there is no chance of winning, join me in never resigning. Really knowing how to play openings, the middle game & end games requires actually playing them. Seeing what is important in positions can be easier to learn when the board has fewer pieces on it. I always tell the other player that I don't resign, usually after it is clear I'm not likely to win. Or if it is clear I am likely to win I tell the other player I hope they don't resign.
Nonsense! You crushed this guy in 11 moves:
Keep playing humans! It's way more fun and also way more educational.
