He went heavy on the blunders in the first match.
Less of those and the match could be good.
Hopefully he won't approach it so nervously this time, since he just got steamrollered last time. Glad to see him win the right to a rematch.
Magnus FTW obviously but doubtless being at the top does cause you to relax at least a bit.
Alcohol and women anyone?
I'm so disapointed Anand won. Though that is lessend by the fact that Levon and Victor played afwully. I mean, I want to see the best possible matchup and I thought (and probably still do) That Lev or Victor could bring the excitement. I just hope Anand plays GOOD chess, I dont want to see a boring repeat where Carlsen just DESTROYS him. That being said, I'll still be rooting hard for Calrsen.
They don't need to play Round 14 tomorrow, because even if Anand loses, he will still be in 1st place!!!!!!!!
It all depends on if Anand can bring his A-game and keep it the whole time. It's hard to believe he can match Carlsen on a physical and psychological level, but that's what he will need to do to have a chance...
Anand has a chance, but he has to be prepared to beat Carlsen at his own game - this means long grinding games which is not his cup of tea. The pressure of playing in front of the home crowd in Chennai won't be there which will help. Also, Anand needs to shake off his mental shackles that Carlsen is a better player - the Vishy of old needs to emerge - where he played with lot of energy and attitude against Goliaths (at the time) like Karpov and Kasparov. Tall task, however I think he can do it, especially if Carlsen is not at his peak and relaxes a bit after having been World Champ for a year as Jgambit posted above.
today at the tournament i was in the TD made an announcement about how anand is going to challenge Carlsen again, some kid was like Carlsen wins and everyone was like yeah :D
Where is the 2014 World Chess Championship? At the moment, I am trying to catch up on the 2013 edition.
Anand isn't scared of Kramnik, Topalov, Aronian, Svidler, Mamedyarov, Karjakin, and Andreikin
Anand is scared of Carlsen
That is the only difference
Except that Anand should be scared of Carlsen.
Anand locked up his spot in the WCC match today. Based on the live ratings he is now #3 in the world rankings! Do you guys think he can create some excitement this time around?
