I play chess because I can't get a girlfriend.
Anoraks ...why are they addicted

"Anorak" is a British term for a geek. "Anoraks" have always been associated with people who are "train spotters" = collectors of locomotive numbers.

Oh. I don't speak British.
Not a problem mate (buddy), we'll translate irony as well when needed

Anorak is an Anglicisation of annoraaq, taken from an Inuit language in the 1920's and used by them to describe a garment quite unlike a modern anorak. Apparently the Observer newspaper began the practice of describing anorak wearers as 'anoraks' in the 1980's and it stuck, thus demonstrating the rich and beautiful adaptability of language. Parka is also taken from an Inuit language and can be directly translated as 'animal skin'. It is much older and can be traced back to the 1620's. This is the kind of stuff that anoraks like me find interesting I guess!

I also play, and think others do as well, because every time you lose you get that desire for perfection. Sort of the desire to be able to make the correct move. Since that state of chess perfection can never be achieved people keep playing and getting addicted. Addiction doesn't stop unless you quit something. so with chess it also doesn't stop because you will never be able to solve the game and be able to win against any attack or defense.

My view is that you lost a game of chess and didn't want to cry to your mommy because you figured saying something like this in a forum full of the said nerds would make you feel big. I was going to write more but then I realized that I do not want to stoop down to your level. Just because you arn't good at chess doesn't mean anyone that is is a nerd. If that's what you have to believe to come to grips to the reality that you lost a chess game to someone maybe younger than you, or of the opposite sex, maybe, just maybe, your ego isn't big enough to fit into the world of chess, as most chess players who make it big are usually humble people.
That's my view. Hope you toss it aside just as fast as you did chess when you lost really badly apparently... so I don't have to read your drivel anymore.
In conclusion, I do not know if you lost a chess game "really badly," I am just merely expressing my opinion on the matter. If it is wrong, feel free to make fun of me and tell me how much of a loser I am to have wasted 15 years of my life while you where in diapers.
