Check his shoes!
Any comments on the resurgence of Radjabov in this tournament?

I heard someone say that his level of play dropped after getting married. Big life changes - like having a baby, moving into a new house, marriage, divorce, etc. - can have a big impact on a person's performance in many areas of life. I think we can faithfully say that Radjabov has recovered from his major life event....
I love this guy for his King's Indian Defense/Pirc as black. I havne't looked at his games yet. Has he fell back on either of those openings?

First, it was Anand, now Radjabov. Who will be the next "This guy shouldn't be in this, he's too weak, he's done nothing in years, he may not win a game"?

BTW, he beat Magnus with the KID.
Holy carpe diem! I have to see this.
edit: Look at this! This is the best Christmas present ever!
Good to see him play better again, even if I wonder if this really is the best chess of his career. It is after all draws in every game apart from the one against Carlsen, even if that one indeed was very nice.
Radjabov has both married and become a father the last years, but such things happened to players like Kasparov, Anand and Kramnik too so there seems to be hope to recover from it :-)

lol
It's a traumatic event, and I don't mean it in a negative way. Marriage, divorce, the death of a loved one, birth of a child, changing jobs and moving are all traumatic events that can have profound effects on people.
So getting married and having a child could very well have placed a drain on Radjabov's energy and mental state for any of the reasons major life changes do.
I appreciate that he pulled off a victory against a top opponent while holding his own in other games. Plus, I very much enjoy his advancement of KID theory....
Any whatsoever?
The guy is playing the best chess of his career (given the disasterous results in the past year and a half), a playing field where he was considered to finish in last place.
I didn't expect him to do so well. His preparation has been outstanding and has had a little something in every game if I am not mistakened.
Bravo, Teimour.
