Just curious if there are any users out there and what you think of CHess King. I'm a Fritz user right now, have tried SCID, but so far Fritz/CB is the best for me.

I think ChessBase is one of the best companies out there, in general.  It seems like they've really made the most out of the concept of making a digital magazine with all the interactive features, PGNs, etc., that they've put into it.  My inclination and suggestion is to probably stick with CB products, especially the database, as the develop even more cool functions for it.  I really see CB as going places and caring about their product.

I was the casual player/studier, that got by on free software like chessDB.  I still think its an excellent tool.  But now that i have set goals for myself, hired a trainer, and decided on a serious study program, i have gone to chessbase, and their products.  You get what you pay for.

Yes, the CB products are great. I got Dvoretsky Manual in CB database format, and it's awesome (and hard!)

What products are you enjoying or have you enjoyed from CB?

Everything.  I have hardly cracked the ChessBase digital magazines, but bought them and subscribed to support the company.  I have the Mega database, and I've watched something like 30 Fritz Trainers and own about 70.  If I find out they are producing something, I'll probably be buying.  I have a CB account, too.  Unfortunately, I'm not so tech savvy for someone in the sciences, and so I don't know how to make the most effective use of the CB database, but I'm learning.  I'm only beginning to study openings, for example, now that I'm crossing 1800 USCF, and there's a function on the CB database to create(!) a book on any opening or variation, with all the latest attempts, breakdowns of effectiveness, etc.  Awesome stuff!
