Appropriate odds for max learning: USCF 1500-1600 vs 2000 / 2200 / 2700

Hello - our 3rd grader (this is his account, ~1550 USCF) has chances to play chess with some better players. Material odds seems like a very good way for him to play against someone who is trying 100% hard, and also teaching how to convert -- if possible -- material advantage to victory.  For a 10 | 2 game, what odds would you suggest for someone like him vs 2000 (an older kid from his school), 2200 (his  brother's coach) and 2700 (he has some GM access as well).

Thank you.

I will say that I would not recommend 10|2 for the time being. I would recommend a longer time control, longer than 15 minutes

I would also recommend at least 15 minutes. Just start with Knight odds against the 2000 and adjust up or down as he wins/loses.

ok - we can do 15 minutes.  thanks.

Get him on the quick games as soon as, the quickness of their young brain will start to calculate different positions more easily plus kids will soon get bored of the longer games you have to keep them interested.

bishbash1: agree, his coach insists on blitz for him, partly for the systematic discipline it forces (e.g., look for checks, captures, opponents threat, and so forth in a rigorous order), partly to keep him interested. His blitz and slow ratings are roughly the same USCF, but of course he has more impressive wins (and more "surprising" losses!) in blitz . . .
