apps or web when playing online ?

Hi.

Was wondering what peoples thoughts, preferences and rational are for how they setup to play rapid ( and blitz):

I tend to play the vast majority of both on my old ipad via the app. Its quick, convenient and can be almost anywhere I can get a signal. Only downside seems to be the impossibility of any sort of tagging, drawing, planning.

I dont do well with a laptop in a similar manner - as the touchpad is just not as effective, especially under time pressure. I suspect i need to get a table and use a mouse in order for it to improve. And this would also allow the square tagging, arrows etc. and a move to longer time controls .

I did experiment with a chessnut air - which i may return too if it forces me to think more ( hated the plastic peices though ). Does anyone prefer the OTB online approach ?

How do you prefer to play and why ?

Im wondering if forcing me to slow down a little would help me think more before blundering my advantage into a loss…..

( i cant event start bullet unless on the phone and even then its a thumb speed problem rather than a chess playing one. Bullet be horrid nonsense designed to invert my mental stability - so i try hard to never play that.

Personally I use my phone, I miss so many moves on laptop (even stupid blunders) and I use 2 thumbs in time scrambles. Also, mouse only makes it faster if you have good mouse skills, making chess more like a video game in low time. If the ipad works, keep using it, as long as it works best for you.

If u struggle with time scrambles with thumbs use one to press the piece and the other to move it, otb I find myself calculating better but sometimes blundering as well, but otb+online I can't do well on
