I was tested for talent...it came back inconclusive.
are chess players ever tested for performance enhancing drugs ?
At the world cup, yeah, but if your's talking about chess.com tornaments, there's nothing anyone can do about it

Random means your not sapose to know WHEN. They could test the day after, and if its positive, they could revoke the win no matter how good you played.

LOL!! And what drugs would these be. You know that just because a "drug" exists doesn't mean there is a test for it.

I don't think these Cognitive-enhancing stuff work! (or perhaps I would use it)...
instead, its an easy way to make money from the guillable.
Anybody want to make bold claims about how many ratings point X or Y helped you earn? be assured I'm not likely to believe you.
on the other hand, if no one can point to even delusional rating gain...

btw, if we're going to accept unscientific anecdotes. Naka is ALWAY drinking redbull? co-incidence!? (yeah I truly think it is).

There are tons of substances out there which enhance memory and cognitive abilities.
I am sure mental clarity, confidence and physical stamina also play a role in a long tournament as well. And you can significantly improve by taking certain substances (google is your friend).
So, are players tested ? If not, should they be ?
