When I was a keen tournament player I made sure I was fit and never drank a lot of coffee early in the day. I also smoked Havana cigars to concentrate the mind and put the opponent off.

Yeah, I was just reading his Wikipedia entry. It doesn't seem very clear what exactly did him in.
