I am trying to get 30.
Are my puzzle rush scores good for my rating?

y = 40x + 520
y = blitz rating
x = puzzle rush 5 min highscore
That's based on my friends' scores on chess.com
This is actually roughly accurate

sadly if this were true for me I'd be 500 points higher :/

True, so my PR score of 38 from 2 years ago would have put my slightly shy of Serper's supposed grandmaster standard. Anyway, my 5 min score has improved to 45 since then, so according to Serper I "am a grandmaster, or will be one soon".

3 min - 47
5 min - 51
Survival - 60
From New Zealand + beginner live chess ratings + cheats in puzzle rush and brags about it
Uh oh. This is becoming familiar

At first I was happy when I randomly got 39 in 5 minute... but it felt odd since I hadn't done much with chess, so that should have been impossible.
I think it's gotten easier over time, which is annoying because it's harder to know whether or how much I've improved.

Back in the day only 1 person was able to get 50 in the 5 minute category and it was Nakamura. Everyone was amazed. 50 was god-like.
So yeah, old lists like that will be off.

PR getting easier over time certainly makes sense. Even Naka's scores have gotten much higher over the years. I also got a 50 in 5 minutes, but chess.com wouldn't put it on the daily leaderboards since I'm untitled. Then, after closing/reopening my account the score was erased. Luckily I saved the link.

Yeah, I noticed that, very impressive
re: leaderboards, too bad cheaters ruin it for everyone else... although I wish there were more common sense measures against obvious cheaters... cough cough*

I've seen bad players get all sorts of high survival scores. Survival isn't really a good gauge of tactical ability, because when you give people unlimited time to do something it ceases to be a test of skill but rather a test of who is more motivated/who is willing to spend the most time on it.
I think people who want to know where they stand tactically should just play 5 min rush.

I don't quite agree, 5 min rush will mainly correlate with blitz as both require quick pattern recognition. The harder puzzles you actually need to be able to accurately calculate lines for and you need survival for this purpose.

Yeah the problem with me is that I am usually too fast for my own good. I generally strike out at 1 1/2 minutes to 2 minutes but with 32-38 puzzles solved. Speed is one thing, accuracy is another.

I think it's gotten easier. On a past account years ago I worked pretty hard for a score of 35. On this account I scored 39 almost right away (and my peak is over 40).
Although... some puzzle collections are easier than others. Sometimes simple mate in 1 or 2 appear in "higher" rated puzzles (not during the first 10) and I don't know why. Other times you get some hard low rated puzzle that has a pass rate of 10% and it kills your run.
Seems like you are better though. I am only new in competitive chess.
