They can all win from each other. Karjakin was pretty close too
aronian levon. possibly next world champion?

I think you can throw a blanket over the top 10-12 in the world, including Magnus recently. Levon has played great recently and has been a top player for years, and the others have all had good runs at certain points recently. Based on the last candidates tourney and this Norway chess which will probably look similar to the next candidates anybody there can win it. And after qualifying for a title match anyone can potentially beat Magnus as Sergei nearly did.

He's probably one of those guys that get good for about 6 months, then disappear.

Wtf honestly. He has been the only clear no.2 to Carlsen all the time between 2010 and 2014, only to have a few bad years in 2015 and 2016. He's not some sort of a newcomer to the elite, in fact he's again where he ought to be. Some of you act as if he's some kind of a revelation - apparently you weren't here a few years ago.
However, I always hoped for a championship match between the two.
this grandmaster has been playing well recently. won at Norway and earlier won at Grenke even beating the world champion at Norway. it's safe to say that's he's playing well. i don't think he'll be the next world champion however i don't think this possibility should be ignored.
what do you think?
