Automate is gone because it wasn't very popular.
Also the AI was a serious problem. It wasn't very consistent. Technically, computer users had a better AI than app users and app users had a better AI than cell phone website users. There was attempts to make it move even, but that also had side effects of making the AI not as good.
It probably will come back, but not right now.

Automate wasn't available on the apps, it was web only. As far as I'm aware, it's not coming back, unless they plan on rewriting the code from scratch.
The new Setup variant theoretically could get linked to automatic engine play, I guess.
