Bad Chess Bots #44

Sort:
blosse13

This is the forty-forth round of a chessbot series. I have currently went through 3 rounds just to test it. We have 2 Bots competing. We will do one game a day until there is just 1 player left. These will be uploaded at around 9PM EST Daily. Also, the bottom 2 players that aren't tied with people outside of the bottom 2 will be eliminated.

Extra feature: Predict the result of the next game! At the end of posts put this point I will show the 2 players for the next game so that you can vote on who you think will win by using the 1-0, 1/2-1/2 or 0-1 emojis! The people with the most points and people with the most accurate votes (who have voted in 10% or more games past this point) will be put on a leaderboard. The full list will be on the spreadsheet linked below. I will be voting too so you can see if you are beating me or not!

I have to introduce a new rule just for this chess series. The 100 move rule. If both sides have been playing for 100 moves and neither side has won, drew, or lost, the game is automatically a draw. This is to prevent games from taking too long.

Weighted Popular(Black): Gets the lichess database, and then weights the chances of picking the
moves (e.g a move that has been played 30% of the time has a 30% chance of being played) If the database has never reached that position before, play a random move.

Suicide(White): Tries to bring the king as far as it can to the other side. Once the king reaches the other side, play the best move.

The next game will be Spread vs Picture Perfect. Let me explain what both of the bots are.

Picture Perfect(Black): Gets a random ASCII character (today, S) and then I put that letter on the board, and then the AI can only move onto those squares.

Spread(White): Moves pieces as far from their king as far as possible.

Use the 1-0 emoji if you think Spread is going to win, use the 1/2-1/2 emoji if you think Spread and Picture Perfect will draw, or use the 0-1 emoji if you think Picture Perfect is going to win. Also, please comment your vote because I will not be able to get it if more than 5 people vote on an outcome.
