This game, played between Al Horowitz and Jose Broderman during the 1945 Pan-Am tournament, inspired the poem below the game. Horowitz placed 4th out of 13 while Broderman placed 11th.

Black blundered then allowed the checkmate position.

Black should have played 30. ... f6  instead of Bxc3.
