There are 20 knight moves in a 43 move game! The last move of the game is by White's knight. What are these two superstars doing with so many knight moves? Why so many knight retreats as opposed to exchanges? I'm lost. Feel free to add to my expert annotation.

knights are slow pieces- they need to be relocated and shuffled to reach their full potential, hopefully on the sixth rank, when, as common wisdom has it, they are worth a rook.
