Even if the post is old, I confirm ... Chess has a soul ... they have always haunted me since I was a child, I've always been attracted to it ... but in the last few months I decided to start dedicating a little more time ... and now I am (happy) to have become addicted to it ... the more time passes the more I discover the vastness of the necessary study, I see lines that I did not see before and I begin to draw patterns in my head ... sometimes I seems to be able to apply defenses and attacks even in real life. And I only start to "see", I still have hours of games and pleasant study, I have just started. The thing I love most at the moment? having admired real players adopting miraculous solutions, creative and at the limit of the impossible ... this also teaches me many things in real life.
I'm using chess.com to get off of my addiction to pot. If I want to improve, then I wont smoke. Ok, but here's the thing, I started smoking and playing all the time lol. I MOSTLY lose when I make a stupid queen blunder hah.
