So i've been playing for around 5 months and I've only gotten to 900 elo which I feel is slow progress. Do you guys have any tips for crossing this ELO range. Also any books/ studies that you could recommend would be great!

I don’t really have any books to recommend but… you should always analyze your games. When I say that, don’t immediately hit game review, first you look at the game by yourself, with the eval bar but not the lines on. Whenever you make a move and it swings to white/black, understand why. Ask yourself why this is a good move and why this is a mistake. Then you click the game review and check your intuition. This helps you get a better understanding of the game. Hope this helps :D

Try Silman's Reassess your Chess. I guarantee if you stick with it through the whole thing you'll gain 300 points easily if not more. He makes it funny and interesting too so you should be able to get through it just fine.
