What’s a good strategy for beginner chess players? I keep getting checkmated by people who are lower ranked than me
CoachBucci

Learn the fundamentals and basic principles like capture towards the center, knights before bishops, castle your king to safety etc. You've played 12 games. Play and analyze your games more and you'll improve.

im quite a beginner myself as well but I've learnt not to rush my moves. try to practice in puzzles and such stuff as much as you can, practice makes perfect, and chess.com has a lot of resources to offer. don't try to be really innovative early-game at this stage and just focus on the basics. you should be good! also, if you are feeling timer pressure, try longer formats. all the best, buddy! :)

Of your last ten loses, only one was to a lower ranked player. Not seeing any problem here...
