Plenty of Grindcore for me. Napalm Death; Fukpig; Nasum or Pig Destroyer.
Best music to listen to when playing chess.

Classical music from the late 19th/early 20th centuries like Tchaikovsky, Grieg and of course Rachmaninoff.

Q: What do you listen to when playing?
A: The sound of one clapping after I win. Seriously, nothing as a rule - few of us are capable of genuine multi-tasking and I'm certainly no exception to this rule, so I'll just end up not hearing whatever's on the radio/ipod/whatever if I'm concentrating on a game or a chessbook. However, I did read that the late Bobby Fischer liked to listen to music while analyzing games.
A friend of mine and I like to pass an acoustic guitar back and forth betweens moves of our chess games. It helps to quell bordem and monotony. We don't get to see each other a lot, so we also do this in part, to get the most out of a visit and share our musical ideas.
Another possible answer for me would be, I am very moody about music. So ideally any music that helps me focus at the time, that I like.
Finally the music that my opponent is fool hearty enough to listen to, that proves a distraction to him/her...lol
When winning...
