I have just returned from Paris where I had the pleasure of visiting "Jardin du Luxembourg" (Luxemburg Park) where about 30 excited players were having intense battles on the chess boards. This was on a normal cloudy Friday and I would expect there are many more players in the summer or when the sun is shining.
I partly found the place because of a search on this forum but it got me thinking if we could make an updated list of where to play chess for free in all the big cities of the world.
Next I go on city holyday I’ll bring a chess set and clock and find out where I can enjoy a good game against local fellow chess players.
